At the same time, there\u2019s something of a sci-fi epic about it: grand, dark, mechanical, as if a giant machine were slowly starting to move. <\/p>\n<p>The band from Sweden represents a modern style of extreme metal that fuses djent, deathcore, and industrial aesthetics in such a way that the resulting sound has an almost physical impact. Everything is built on tension: short, precise beats, then back to those massive walls of sound that slowly push forward. And over it all, vocals that don\u2019t explain, but rather emphasize.  <\/p>\n<p>HUMANITY\u2019S LAST BREATH was founded in Sweden in 2009 by Buster Odeholm and Kristoffer Nilsson. Odeholm writes, produces, and mixes the band\u2019s sound, and over the years has consistently shaped HLB into this unique monolith. Following lineup changes, the project was even continued for a time as Odeholm\u2019s solo venture (\u201cDetestor\u201d) before the band reestablished itself as a full-fledged live act with a new lineup starting in 2016.  <\/p>\n<p>In the scene, HUMANITY\u2019S LAST BREATH have long since been more than \u201cjust another djent\/deathcore band.\u201d They\u2019re regularly mentioned in the same breath as Meshuggah and Vildhjarta because of the way they uncompromisingly fuse polyrhythms with a sound as heavy as a ton. With albums like \u201cAbyssal,\u201d \u201cV\u00e4lde,\u201d and \u201cAshen,\u201d they have cemented this style as their own signature sound.  <\/p>\n<p>In 2027, they\u2019ll be playing here for the first time. They\u2019ve already toured with Lorna Shore, are now filling sold-out venues on their own headlining tours\u2014and are currently writing new material. Anyone familiar with the band knows why this is a must-see for genre enthusiasts. And for those who haven\u2019t heard them yet, this is the best introduction there is: live, when you don\u2019t just hear this sound\u2014you feel it. This isn\u2019t a set to listen to casually.
