Not just for show, but as a method: songs that shift between punk, metal, and electronica as if it were the most natural language in the world\u2014and a visual, futuristic aesthetic that comes entirely from their own workshop. <\/p>\n<p>The band was founded in London, and their history alone explains a lot: The members come from different corners of the world, and that\u2019s exactly the perspective you hear. CALVA LOUISE craft songs that can shift gears: from an edgy riff to a synth detail, from post-hardcore intensity to a hook that suddenly feels massive. It\u2019s both raw and very well thought out.  <\/p>\n<p>Added to that is their \u201cUniverse\u201d approach: CALVA LOUISE conceives of music not just as tracks, but as a cohesive world of story, imagery, and DIY aesthetics. According to the band\u2019s bio, they even build their own stage equipment, and Jess Allanic creates the visual worlds of their videos herself. <\/p>\n<p>Not only is that impressive\u2014it feels that way live, too. It\u2019s as if someone were breaking away from the \u201cnormal\u201d band format and turning it into a momentum machine: a riff kicks in, a synth adds a touch of color, the next part shifts gears\u2014and you realize: something is happening here that you can\u2019t quite pigeonhole, but you recognize it instantly. <\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s exactly why this fits right in on Reload: because CALVA LOUISE doesn\u2019t just \u201cplay\u201d\u2014they drive the show forward.
