GENRE: NU METAL, MODERN METAL
When KITTIE started out in Canada in the mid-90s, metal was still pretty much a closed circle of men. That’s exactly why four young women suddenly making real noise in the middle of the wild nu-metal environment seemed like a liberating blow. Spit (1999) brought this raw, direct energy to the point: unadorned, angry, determined.
With the later albums, the band gradually pushed their sound in a heavier, darker direction and developed their own signature beyond narrow genre boundaries. The nu-metal DNA remained noticeable, but something heavier and more mature grew underneath – a sound that established KITTIE as a modern metal band.
Then it went quiet. The long band break dragged on, with only a one-off home game and a documentary to remind us how much power this band actually had. And it is precisely this power that is now returning.
Live, this is unfiltered: focused, physical, without embellishment. It doesn’t feel like a reunion – more like a chapter that is finally being written.
In 2026, KITTIE take to our stage for the first time, bringing with them the full breadth of their history: the friction of the early days, the heaviness of their later development and the new energy of Fire. Anyone looking for modern metal with attitude should not miss this gig.
