GENRE: NU-DEATHMETAL
LEFT TO SUFFER will be performing at Reload for the first time in 2027—and anyone who immediately thinks only of speed and heaviness when they hear “deathcore” is in for a surprise. Since its founding in 2019, the Atlanta-based band has developed a very distinct sound: nu-deathcore—that is, deathcore with a nu-metal groove and that heavy, modern tone that doesn’t sound retro, but rather contemporary.
What makes them special is how consistently they write with impact in mind. Riffs that are low-pitched yet still “roll,” breakdowns that aren’t just thrown in but are strategically placed, and hooks that stick in your head even when everything feels heavy. Add to that a thematic core that’s less about fantasy lore and more about introspection: dark thoughts, heaviness, tension.
In the scene, they’ve long since been more than just newcomers: Metal Hammer has called LEFT TO SUFFER one of the “bands saving deathcore.”
And that’s exactly what makes Reload stand out: a band that doesn’t use heaviness as an end in itself, but as a stylistic device.
First Reload. And a set that you don’t just hear—you feel.
