The year has only just begun and we’re already going full throttle again: at the end of last year, we sealed the most top-class program in the festival’s history with the second wave of bands. Now we’re going one better with punk legends PENNYWISE.
Sulingen, January 26, 2023 – Surprise, surprise: Finally; after many years of effort, the punk band PENNYWISE has arrived and agreed to bring the atmosphere to a boil at the Reload Festival 2023! We are happy about the “latecomers”, because they are real punk legends: Founded in 1988, the combo from Hermosa Beach (US) is considered one of the most successful punk bands. With their socially critical lyrics and comparatively hard and aggressive tones, they are regarded as pioneers of melodic hardcore. A total of 39 bands have confirmed their appearance at Reload Festival 2023.
A final slot, which is traditionally reserved for an up-and-coming band, promises even more to the ears. This will be chosen by means of a contest. On April 22, the audience at the JoZZ youth center in Sulingen will decide which of the five competing bands will be allowed to play on the festival’s main stage. In addition: Due to the consistently positive feedback on arrival on Wednesday, we have decided to make early arrival possible again in 2023. Arrival will be possible from Wednesday, August 16 at 2 pm and will cost 10 euros. If you would like to apply for your vacation days early, you can definitely make a note in your calendar to arrive on Wednesday!
