GENRE: EXPERIMENTAL METAL
IGORRR is that moment when your brain says, “What’s going on here?” and “Why is this so good?” all at the same time. In a wonderfully Dadaist style, multi-instrumentalist Gautier Serre blends extreme metal subgenres, Baroque classical music, electronic sounds, and pure experimental joy. Sometimes, even a chicken plays the piano.
Serre launched IGORRR in 2005 as a solo project and laid the groundwork early on with the demo albums “Poisson Soluble” (2006) and “Moisissure” (2008). The first official releases, “Nostril” (2010) and “Hallelujah” (2012), followed via the Berlin-based label Ad Noiseam, before IGORRR gradually evolved into a band and signed with Metal Blade. With “Savage Sinusoid” (2017), it became clear once and for all: This isn’t just some quirky project—it’s in a league of its own.
After that, they headed straight to where IGORRR belong: on big stages and in unusual settings. Tours (including with Ministry), festival slots from Roadburn to Hellfest—and even the Montreux Jazz Festival as proof that this music can’t be confined to a single audience. And by the time “Spirituality and Distortion” (2020) reached number twelve on the German charts, it was clear just how far this “unclassifiable” phenomenon had come.
In 2025, they released their fifth studio album, *Amen*. And live, IGORRR is in a league of its own: a completely sold-out European tour, an elaborate stage show, and sound and lighting that feel like a theatrical production in their own right.
And that’s exactly why this band belongs on the Reload stage in 2027: IGORRR, making their debut with us. If you’re looking for just one act that’s truly different—here it is.
