The band contest has already become something of a tradition at the Reload Festival, and this year’s competition once again offers up-and-coming bands the opportunity to earn a place in our line-up: On Saturday, April 27, five bands will use the stage at the “Jozz” youth center in Sulingen for this purpose
On April 27, 2024, a musical highlight is coming up at “Jozz” in Sulingen: the ultimate showdown for the coveted slot on the Impericon Stage, our main stage! Since the first Reload band contest in 2011, it has been a tradition that an up-and-coming newcomer band gets the chance to perform in front of a large audience on this stage.
This year, five talented bands from all over Germany have qualified for the competition:
- Below Zero- Garage Rock, from Bremen
- Beyond The Breach- Modern Metalcore, from Hamburg
- Facing Fears- Modern Hard Rock, from Illertissen
- Light The Blind- Modern Metal, from Cologne
- Xarise- Metalcore, from Augsburg
The bands were selected by a jury from over 110 applications, and now the decision is in the hands of the audience, as the winners will be determined by an exciting public vote. We are expecting a full house and therefore recommend arriving early, as the first contest band will take to the stage at 19:00. Admission is from 18:15, the entrance fee is only 5€.
The order in which the bands perform will be drawn by lot on the day of the contest, and voting will only begin after the last band has played. But don’t worry: during the counting phase, punk rock veterans Genial Rusty City from Nienburg-Hannover will heat you up and keep the atmosphere at operating temperature.
